Saturday June 21st 2003:
A midsummer evening barbecue was held on the forecourt of the Village Hall. Eighty people turned out on a lovely sunny evening for a wonderful barbecue featuring freshly caught mackerel, chicken, sausages, hamburgers and finally – strawberry tarts!
Marjorie Rendle always held a Coffee Morning just before the Regatta to raise funds to meet the set up expenses. Marjorie is no longer with us, but her Coffee Morning lives on. This year’s was held on July 30 and was a great success in spite of rather grey weather.
The Port Navas Village Hall was officially opened on Saturday March 22nd 2003 by the new High Sheriff of Cornwall, Mr Christopher Perkins. In his first official engagement, Mr Perkins paid tribute to all those who had contributed to the creation of this valuable community resource.
