Port Navas Calendar »

The very first Port Navas calendar has been printed and will go on the sale at the Regatta on August 7th. It has been created by Lee Frost and Melissa Cooke and features a selection of photographs and painting by both PN residents and local artists.

The calendar is A3 in size and will be sold for £10 per copy with a clear protective sleeve or £10.50 with an A3 card mailer so it can be posted out to family and friends.

If you don’t manage to grab a copy at the regatta, you can buy one (or several!) after August 7th by phoning Ann Frost on 07952 622237 or emailing annfrost19@gmail.com.

All profits from sales of the calendar will be shared between the PN Regatta charities and PN Village Hall.

Thank you to J and D for our wonderful new bench. Sit and enjoy the tranquility and blossom. The garden is maintained by Cate and Pauline with a small band of volunteers for all the community to enjoy. Do walk over the bridge and enjoy this special little oasis.

We just wanted to let everyone know that after a valiant fight with Motor Neurone disease, John Ford died on 17th April. He is buried in Constantine Church. Our thoughts are with his wife Teresa, their three lovely children Hannah, Ed and Ellie and the whole Ford family.

John loved The Helford and was looking forward to spending more and more time down here after a long and successful career in the Far East.  We will miss his energy, enthusiasm and love of life.

Last year Port Navas resident John Ford was diagnosed with motor neurone disease.  John’s sister Fran writes:

My 57 year old brother was diagnosed in March last year with this cruel disease. Since then he has lost weight, become progressively weaker and is now struggling to walk and talk.

We have been inspired by Kevin Sinfield running 7 marathons in 7 days for his team mate Rob Burrow, and want to raise as much money as we can for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, who have been helping us deal with this terrible progressive disease.

As a family we are going to travel the total distance of 7 miles for each of the 7 days, either by walking or kayaking.
