Saturday May 7th: Grand Plant Sale « Midsummer Barbecue 2011 · Under New Management »
Lots of plants, lots of people and a lovely day. Organiser, Gillian Turnbull, with help from neighbours, particularly Darola Steel and Bernice & Roger Wickens, had rounded up a wonderful collection of plants. John Green came down from Calamansac by tractor with specimen roses and more. Sales were brisk and over £300 was raised for the village Hall. Darola guessed the number of peas in the jar at 690, very close to the actual total: 711.
